AIRPLUS® Air Dryers
AIRPLUS® air dryers offer a reliable solution to effectively remove moisture from compressed air before use in dry blasting, wet blasting or soft blasting applications. Thanks to their refrigeration-based condenser, they provide optimal cooling. Dry air free from condensation ensures perfect abrasive flow and uninterrupted operation.
Cooling is achieved via a refrigeration circuit built into the dryer, allowing for a rapid temperature drop in the compressed air. This method condenses almost all water vapor present, which is then efficiently evacuated.
How does it work?
Compressed air is cooled to about 3°C, causing water vapor to condense. This moisture is removed before the air is reheated and delivered to the blaster.
Result : Drier air for more efficient blasting.
Note: The inlet pressure affects dryer efficiency — Low pressure speeds up air flow but reduces efficiency ; Higher pressure improves performance.
What are the Benefits?
- Blasting Optimization: Drier air improves media flow and guarantees consistent blasting performance.
- Equipment Protection: Less humidity means less corrosion and longer equipment lifespan.
- Less Maintenance: By preventing moisture build-up, the dryer helps reduce breakdowns and service needs.
- Power Supply: Requires a 230VAC.
Moisture in Compressed Air: A Major Challenge in Blasting
During abrasive blasting operations using compressed air, moisture condensation is a critical issue. This natural phenomenon occurs due to the inevitable cooling of compressed air following its sharp temperature rise during pressurization by the compressor. To effectively resolve this, using an aftercooler or an air dryer is essential.

Origin of HumidityAir drawn in by the compressor contains a variable amount of humidity depending on weather conditions. When pressurized, air temperature increases sharply. |

Droplet FormationWhen pressure suddenly drops (e.g. when blasting starts or stops), the temperature drops as well. This causes water vapor to condense into droplets once the dew point is reached. |

Impact on BlastingThese droplets mix with the abrasive and form clumps that impair flow, affecting work consistency and performance. |

SolutionAftercoolers and air dryers cool compressed air and eliminate excess moisture before it enters the blaster — ensuring optimal performance and consistent media flow. |
